Did you see the letter in the local paper from the guy that said he lived in Norton? Sounded like "Mad Max " from the JBB show- "all ya'all people that was elected by YOUR towns, shut up and vote like I want- quit ruining my life". If the nation was run his way, the Republicans would all be forced to vote for anything Obama wanted, at least till the next election. Since it isn't just 2 towns anymore, this has taken a whole new turn. The ride over the worst raod in the county- I've seen the Appy-BSG straight freeze before anything else- is a walk in the sun. You don't want to bus kids up a 4 lane highway? I like watching better than worrying. At this rate I'll be up for the cut rate taxes before they raise the local taxes to build schools. We should have ponyed-up in 1992 and fixed the schools then.

We just need to use common sense and try our best to give all the kids in Wise county the best we can afford. We don't need all the bells and whistles Dr. Perry placed in the renovation plans. We have better buildings now than can be built. Remember our present schools were built as bomb shelters during the cold war. I will admit JJ Kelly does need replaced, don't know how admin. at that school used what money they received for maint. P.V. Appy, Pound, and Coeburn are in pretty good shape, just needing windows, doors, heating an cooling, electical, and plumbing upgrades. As far as AP classes use tech. We can make our schools shining examples of how small schools can excel. If we all come together( an maybe C.E.A.S.E ) is doing this, we can give the kids of Wise County something to be proud of. NOT JUST SETTLE FOR SOMETHING BECAUSE THIS HAS WENT ON TO LONG ! Citizens of are now speaking ! JOIN IN !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!

It has to be settled and the citizens that are complaining now have had every other model has been presented and shot down by them too. No sympathy for them and 2-1 isn't the end of the world, they don't want any change or really care about their kids education when they sit there and object to EVERYTHING for no logical reason. There's no reason they can't be proud of the new schools, I sure would be instead of what there is now, the only people that's really against this is some parents - then that rubs off on their kids. I think CEASE is a joke and flat out embarrassing.

I haven't heard of really many complaining at all, but you keep throwing Norton in there like I've ever taken a different position if/if not Norton joins. I support them joining, hell I don't even live in Norton. It's a school, it's not the end of the world if it closed down, because it's not part of my identity(unlike some try to claim) and it doesn't harm anyone. Wow, I don't get to attend 3-4 ballgames a year, big ****ing deal.

Norton people stand to gain from 2 on 1 plan. A county tax increase would not affect them plus a gain in students = more state funds plus more traffic = more tax money. easy to run a mouth when you don't have a dog in the race. I have found they talk out of both sides of their mouth. Ex. guy in coalfield letter.

I don't even know what guy or piece you're talking about, some editorial? Explain a little better. And yeah, because that's what it boils down to, the mommies and daddies don't get to dress up in the same colors on friday nights and that's the only thing that would be lost - egos from being from this school or that school that did well in this sport of that sport in this one decade that no one really remembers anymore.

I have family that goes to the county schools, my kids might being going to these schools one day, so don't sit here and say anyone has anymore say than the other. It's no coincidence the ones who act like the biggest idiots are from where? That's on the board and the dedicated clowns in the crowd.
